Funeral Service for Mary Lou Thompson age 91of Clearwater, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater,  Burial will be in Clearwater Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater.  Mary Lou passed away on January 26, 2024 at Plainview Manor in Plainview, Nebraska.  Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Condolences may be directed to the family at www.snidermemorialfh.com

     Mary Lou Thompson was born on March 25, 1932 to James and Ethel Ida (Morsett) Cooper at Orchard, Nebraska.  She attended school in Orchard and graduated from Orchard High School with the Class of 1949.  After high school she worked at Consumer Public Power District in O’Neill and Creighton for many years.  During this time she was united in marriage to John D. Thompson at Orchard, Nebraska on April 28, 1957.  She continued to help work on the farm/ranch anything to be outside.  They had cows until selling them in 1991.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, and dancing.  She liked taking care of her cats and dogs.  Mary Lou was a member of Clearwater Legion Auxiliary and Orchard Methodist Church. 

     She is survived by her sisters; Elsie Coy of Ewing, NE; Lela Clark of Nashville, TN; Lucille Strope of Orchard, NE; and Alta (Galan) Gibbs of Orchard, NE.  her sister-in-law, Norma and Eugene Lundquist of Neligh, NE and brother-in-law, Doyle Thompson of CO

     Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D; brother-in-laws, Sylas Coy, Ray Clark, Wayne Strope; and sister-in-law, Jean Thompson.
