Megan Elizabeth Knievel was born on February 25, 1987 in Ashland, Nebraska to Andrew and Patricia (Cronin) Boone. She graduated from Ashland Greenwood High School with the Class of 2005. She graduated from University Nebraska Lincoln with a double major and she was on the UNL Equestrian Team as a member and president. In Ashland, she worked at the Anderson Race Horse Stables. She was Trail Boss at Mahoney State Park and did an internship at Cooksley Ranch. After college, Megan became a highly respected equine horse show judge throughout the Midwest and was still to this day. On May 10, 2014, she was united in marriage to Bret Knievel, the love of her life, in Norfolk, Nebraska. She was employed at Animal Health Vet Clinic, Norfolk Livestock Market, and managed Thompson Performance Horses. Megan and Bret moved to Ewing in 2018, where they established Knievel Quarter Horses and Cattle. She was employed at Koinzan Feedlot and At Your Service in Home Care as office manager. She was Antelope County 4-H Equine Superintendent. She enjoyed giving riding lessons and preparing youth whether it be for horse judging competition or riding competition. Furthering youth in the knowledge of horses was one of her greatest pleasures. Megan was expanding her equine knowledge in the art of ultra-sounding and AI’ing mares. She spent her career raising, training, and preparing quarter horses for sales, ranch, showing, and performance events. Megan enjoyed her horses, reading, and antique stores. She was a member of the AQHA and Abundant Life Christian Center in Neligh. She loved and lived the western way of life through her Christian faith.

She is survived by her husband, Bret Knievel and beloved dog Dottie of Ewing, NE. Her mother, Patricia Boone of Ashland, NE; father, Andy (Dawn) Boone of Ashland, NE; brother, Matthew (Coleen) Boone of Omaha, Nebraska; step sister, Kate (John) Eggleston of Plattsmouth, NE; step grandmother Ruth Boone. Mother-in-law Jackie Knievel of Neligh, NE father-in-law William L. Knievel; sister-in-law Amy (Robert) Miller; brother-in-law Ryan Knievel and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was godmother to Etta Koinzan, daughter of Greg and Courtney.
