Nancy Baker passed away Monday June 29, 2026. She was 87. She is the youngest daughter of Gordon and Katherine Baker. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Chess, Irma Jean, Gordon (Fellar) and Bob. And also three husbands Bruce Rehberg of Brunswick, Warren Holm of Royal and Harry Johnston of Orchard. A graduate of Neligh High School (1957), she worked as an executive secretary until her retirement.
Through the course of her life she had children, Kurt and Rebecca, sang in a band, was widowed twice, lived in NE, MN, IA, WA and AZ. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, rode a motorcycle, drove Corvettes and a really cool 1963 Chevy Impala. She wore mini skirts, python skin boots and wigs. She danced, cruised main street in Neligh, saw Elvis and Johnny Cash in concert. Vacationed in Estes Park CO, Vienna Austria, Grove Lake NE and Mahoney State Park NE. She toured Nebraska and the South by bus with her BFFs Sis and Judy. She cooked, cleaned, washed clothes, applied methylate and bandaids, loved her grandkids Bethany, Josh and Sasha and all of her nieces and nephews. She settled the last year in Claremore OK near her son and they visited each day, solved the world's problems, laughed, cussed the Huskers, sat quietly and remembered.....you, Our God.....and the memories of living.
