Norma J. Allen passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home surrounded by family on August 11, 2024. She was 81 years old. Norma was born March 1, 1943, at Plainview, Nebraska, to Leo and Emily (Sazama) Nielsen and graduated from Plainview High School in 1960.

On January 30, 1967, Norma married Edward D. Allen. To this union were born three children, Andreas, Nancy, and Sherry.

Throughout her life, Norma was employed at Henningsen’s, owned and operated Ski-Hi café, was a CNA, director at the Senior Service Center, and presently ran and operated A & A Tours.

Norma enjoyed many things throughout her life. Raising her family, cooking meals for all those welcome with a traditional family Sunday supper, baking, gardening and canning, and days of camping and fishing at Merritt (in which she always out fished everyone). She also enjoyed celebrating everyone’s birthday’s, the holidays and her beloved casino trips with her family and friends. But her biggest joys in life were her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and her cherished little dogs which she called “my girls”.

Norma is best remembered as a loving, caring, and selfless person. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew her.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, parents, and her husband Ed (2009).

She is survived by her children; Andreas (Christina) Allen of Omaha, Nancy Allen of Plainview, and Sherry (Keith) Sanders of Plainview. Her grandchildren; Briann Allen, Dustin (Laura) Christiansen, Kelli Allen, Trenton (Candace) Sinkler, Tiffani Elwood and significant other Jake Wagner, Heather Sinkler, and Holly (James) Froehlich.
