Robert "Bob" Lee Chipps

Funeral service for Robert “Bob” Chipps age 81 of Clearwater, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2025 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Bob Daiton, officiating. Burial will be in Clearwater Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Clearwater Legion Post #267 and Sons of Legion. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2025 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Bob passed away on October 19, 2025 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska.  Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.      Robert Lee Chipps was born on June 10, 1944 to George and Dorothy (Prien) Chipps in Ord, Nebraska. Bob grew up in rural Ord and attended school in Ord. At age 14 he went to work at the Pofahl Ranch. He enlisted in the United States Army at age 18. He served in Germany and Korea. He was honorably discharged from the Army at Fort Carson in 1973. He married Suzzanne Schamp and to this union a daughter, Racheale was born. In 1971, he married Linda Pokorny and had two sons, Kevin and Corey (Chipper). He moved to Kryger Ranch south of Ewing, Nebraska in 1973 after the army. He then worked for Knievel’s Corner 1977 to 2006. He couldn’t sit still so he went to work for several area farmers to keep busy for many years and threatened retirement every year.

     Survived by daughter, Racheale (Dan) Haas of Arlington, Nebraska and her children Jesse Kleffner, Cortney (Austin) Ehrisman, and Faith Mundt. Cortney’s children, Emeline Ehrisman, Elizabeth Connette, Ryker Ehrisman, and Alivia Ehrisman. Sons, Kevin Chipps of Springfield, South Dakota his children Morgan and Jacob; Corey “Chipper” (Amy) Chipps of Clearwater, Nebraska and his children Brooklynn, Wyatt, Abbey, and Wilyam. His brother Roger Chipps, brother-in-law Jerry Didier, and nieces and nephews.

     Preceded in death by his parents and sister Janette.
