Roger William Race

Memorial Service for Roger and LadDonna Race of Bartlett, Nebraska will be held together on 11:00 a.m. April 1, 2023 at United Methodist Church in Bartlett.  Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery.   Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater is handling the arrangements.  Condolences may be directed to the family at www.snidermemorial.com.  

LaDonna passesd away after a brief illness on January 2, 2023 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill, Nebraska.

Roger passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2023 at Brookfield Park Nursing home in St. Paul, Nebraska.

     Roger William Race was born on August 14, 1940 to Edward R. and Viona M.

(Fisbeck) Race at Ovid, Colorado. He attended school in Julesburg, Colorado. Roger

farmed and ranched in northeast Colorado until he moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado in

1969. He was united in marriage to LaDonna Hayes on February 25, 1972. They made

their home in Ft. Collins until 1978. That is when they decided to move to Bartlett,

Nebraska so he could follow his passion of farming until retiring in 2006. Along the way

he had several other business among which included a pheasant hunting preserve. Over

time he developed a love of cooking and served many meals to family, friends, hunters

and even some soup kitchens.

     He is survived by his children: Debbie (Dave) Callaway of Naples, NY; Steve (Ronda) Hayes of

Wray, CO; Terri (Don) Grenz of Windsor, Co; Mitch (Sarah LaVonne) Race of Bartlett, NE; Monte

(Albina) Race of Greeley, CO; Denise Race of Kennewick, WA. Eighteen grandchildren and twenty

 great grandchildren. Sister, Sharon Jorges of Sturgis, SD.

     Preceded in death by his wife LaDonna Race; brother, Ray Race; granddaughters, Ashley Rober

 and Katarina Race.
