Funeral Services for Virginia "Ginny" Alderman will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plainview, Nebraska. Burial will be in the Royal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plainview. Virginia “Ginny” Jean Alderman was born on March 29, 1941 to Phil and Lois (Schoeneman) March in Wayne, Nebraska. She graduated from Wayne High School with the Class of 1959. While selling popcorn at the March family movie theater, she met Brad Alderman. They were united in marriage on May 29, 1959 in Valentine NE. Together they owned and operated Alderman’s Variety Stores in Plainview and Bloomfield until 1999. Ginny enjoyed being at the cabin at Royal camping, traveling, spending winters in Arizona, and baking brownies and cookies. She also like golfing, bowling, playing bridge, bocce ball, mini-golf and walking her dog. She belonged to the Bridge Card Club and was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and women’s club. She was also well known for always having candy and “smarties “ on hand for keeping the children happy!
Ginny is survived by her children Deb and Glenn Randel of West Point, NE, Brian and Lorie Alderman of Newport, OR, and by her sister Marianne Roberts of Fremont, NE and her brother Jack March of Palm City, FL.
She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Ed and Gail Alderman of Lincoln ,NE, and sister-in-law Mary Billesbach of Tucson AZ. Grandchildren and great grandchildren include Toby and Emily Thompson (Tyan, Tegan, and Trevan); Craig and Trisha Randel (Aubrey, Ryker, Miles, and Paxton); Shelby and Calvin Mueller (Josie, Gemma, Oliver, Bosco, and Charlie); Cassie and Eimund Skjaeret (Elian and Micah); Wyatt Alderman; Logan Williams and Alison Malouf; Aaron Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son John Alderman; brother Terry March; father and mother-in-law John and Voy Alderman, brother-in-law Bob Billesbach; sister-in-law Jane March; and granddaughter Jennifer.
