Our History

Staff members of Snider Memorial Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to us.

Jay is a 1989 graduate of Clearwater High School. He attended Wayne State College and Kansas City, KS, Community College, receiving his mortuary science degree in 1994.

Jay served his apprenticeship and worked for Huffman's Brooks Chapel/Huffman's Snider Chapel from 1994-1997. Then moved to Onawa, IA, where he worked for a large corporate funeral home and a large independent funeral home. In the summer of 2003 moved back to Clearwater and built Snider Memorial Funeral Home. In 2007, He opened funeral chapels in Elgin and Neligh.  May 2025, we purchased Plainview and Orchard Funeral Homes. We have many options to offer our families such as personalized services, slide show presentation in memory of your loved one My wife, Tina and our children: Kenny McClellan and wife Mackenzie, grandson Bowen granddaughter Baylor; Riley Snider and wife Ashley and granddaughters Sophia, Lainey, and Jaycee; daughter Allee Snider and son, Codey Snider and his wife Harlie are glad to be "Home".
